One Year Anniversary
We have been here for one year at Stockers Farm! The rescue has grown rapidly since arriving here and the support from the local communities has been amazing. We are firmly on the map now as your local rescue and we are here to stay! Look out for our next post about our first year and how we have helped many wild animals and birds recover and be released back into the wild.
The female fox injured in a road accident is doing well. She’s had her front leg repaired and will be having the operation on her back leg this week.
This last week, we have taken in 6 pigeons, 5 hedgehogs, a tawny owl, 2 Pipistrelle bats, a kestrel, a kingfisher, a pheasant , 4 field mice and a baby rat .
We released a young rabbit, a magpie and several pigeons .
Here are some of the wildlife in our care at the rescue this week.
Youth training and experience
We currently have 6 young people volunteering at the rescue for their Duke of Edinburgh award.
We are also in talks with the Princes Trust about helping young people with work experience.
We are currently in the process of applying for full charity status. This is quite a lengthy process and our application is still being reviewed. We are hoping to hear good news soon!
