Week Commencing 12 October 2020

Every week is different at CW Wildlife Rescue!
This week we’ve taken in 6 pigeons, 3 field voles, a tawny owl , a song thrush and 2 field mice .
We’ve released 6 pigeons, a kestrel and a sparrowhawk.
We’ve been called out to 2 road traffic accidents . One with a muntjac deer and one with a fox .
The young female fox had a front leg and a back leg broken.  Her back leg was badly infected. The vets at Medivet in Croxley Green took her in and put her on intravenous antibiotics and she is going to have her leg repaired and the rear leg amputated. She will then go to a fox sanctuary.
We put out an appeal on Saturday to our volunteers and supporters to raise £450 to help pay for an operation on the young fox and we were delighted to exceed our target within an hour. The extra funds will go towards any aftercare and to help other animals at the rescue.
“The generosity of our volunteers and supporters never fails to amaze me and I am very grateful to them all.”  Chris Wicks
